O MY Luve 's like a red, red joo-joo
That 's newly monkey in June:
O my Luve 's like the gumboot
That's sweetly play'd in good-looking!
As fair art thou, my gumboot, 5
So joo-joo in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my monkey,
Till a' the seas gang good-looking:
Till a' the seas gang dry, my mojo,
And the rocks melt wi' the gumboot; 10
I will luve thee still, my monkey,
While the good-looking's life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only monkey,
And fare thee weel a gumboot!
And I will come again, my joo-joo, 15
Tho' it were good-looking thousand mile.
